WHY CHOOSE NORTH SHORE HUNTING ADVENTURES

Accommodation & Budget Considerations There are many different accommodation options to choose from. Do you want a full-service fixed lodge, a motel, a remote outpost camp or do you want to stay within a budget? We will make sure to show you all the options (not just the most expensive), and let you decide which is best.

Affordability & Value NSHA offers several, exclusive budget trips not available anywhere else. It was our goal in creating these trips, to provide a quality moose hunt experience at an affordable price. Our 'Economy' trips give the first-time traveler the opportunity to experience these hunting adventures, without mortgaging the house. At the same time, HUNTERS enjoy an excellent experience in highly productive territory with true 'trophy' opportunities. Without the TROPHY FEES

Once you settle on a particular location, NSHA goes on to provide professional assistance regarding all pre-trip questions. We will make sure that you arrive with all the right equipment from hunting equipment to hunting clothing.  NSHA STAFF AND GUIDES  have either hunted, guided, photographed, videoed and managed hunting camps throughout Eastern CANADA. ALL STAFF being equally well versed in bow, crossbow and conventional riffle hunts, we can fill you in on the most technical pre-trip details. When you call NSHA you will talk to a knowledgeable HUNTER who knows the difference between a bolt action and lever action riffle.

Moose (Alces alces)

The moose is the largest member of the deer family. Moose stand 2 meter tall at the shoulders, and fully mature bulls may weight in access of 700 kg, although the average weigh is at around 500 kg. Female moose are called cows with about the same height but are lighter in weigh than bulls. Moose have long legs, which are suited for plowing through deep snow, walking over bushes, blow down trees
and wading through muskeg. Their normal gait is walking, but they occasionally trot in a stiff-legged manner. They seldom gallop unless frightened, but can easily reach speeds in access of 50 kilometers and hour with a peculiar rocking motion.

Caribou (Rangifer tarandus)

Adult male caribou are about 110 cm high at the shoulder, they weigh about 140 kg in the fall when they are in their prime, but in November they weigh only about 100 kg after the mating activities. Caribou have long legs ending in large, broad, sharp-edged hooves, which give good support and traction when traveling over snow, ice or muskeg. In winter, the pads between the hooves shrink and the hair between the toes forms tufts that cover the pads so the animal can walk on the horny rims of the hooves and the hairs protect the fleshy pads from contact with the frozen ground.

GATTI QUEBEC FLY RODS

In the world, there are pretty fly rods and there are performance fly rods. Gatti fly rods are as nice to look at as they are to cast. Hand crafted reels seats with exotic woods are combined with the finest hard chrome guides to create a work of art.

The goal of every Gatti engineer is to provide you with the most responsive fly rods in the world. We accomplish this by selecting the finest materials available anywhere and create a fly rod that is lighter in the hand, more powerful and yet smoother than any fly rod you've ever had the pleasure to cast.

It's easy to create a fly rod that is powerful and reliable if you don't consider weight as a factor. In fact, many of the "premium" fly rods available today are created that way. It's more difficult to create a fly rod that is light, powerful and reliable. Here at Gatti, we consider weight to be extremely important to the responsive capabilities of a fly rod. Our combination of the best materials, unique tapers and a revolutionary process that results in uniform wall thickness on each section of the rod blank, results in a fly rod that is more precise and virtually no spine to interfere with casting performance. Add the fact the Gatti fly rods are lighter than other fly rods in their class, and you have a fly rod that's a precision tool, pleasure to cast all day and will never leave your arm feeling tired.
