Moose Hunting Territory
With NSHA the hunter can decide to change territory at any time during the hunt if he and the guide feel like the territory wont produce the moose desired. NSHA only bring 8 hunters for riffle season and 4 hunters for bow season each year this keeps the moose population high and give each hunter the chance to really have a successful hunt.
TERRITORY 1 (O C) (BOW and Riffle) This territory consist of 3 small lakes, one of them has a tree stand overlooking the lake and a small pond rigt next to a heavily used game trail. Each lake has 1 or 2 salt licks and 2 of the lake have a mud hole that moose frequently roll in them, The main lake which is in the middle is the one with the tree stand and located about 2 miles in back of the outpost cabin. The other trails that lead to the 2 other lakes is accessible by boat only with its own trail that leads to the lake. This area has one dominant bull in the 45 to 55 inch spread and 2 younger bulls in the 35 to 45 inch spread with 2 females and 4 calves that were spotted in late October 2009. (no female (cow) hunts in this territory)

TERRITORY 6 (RESERVOIR) ( RIFFLE ONLY) This prime territory is perfect for riffle only no tree stand here we hunt this territory in a tracking or spot and stalk type hunt its hold lots of promise for 2010 because we did not hunt it since 2008. And during our routine inspection in late fall we spotted 2 good size bulls and some cows so we should be able to bag a decent one in 2010.

Our Quebec
moose hunting location has 6 prime hunting location on the Aux Outardes
River, each territory is independent from each other and we will never bring
a hunter in that territory if a animal has been bagged that same year. Each
hunting is territory consist of dominant bulls and non dominant bulls +
females and calves. We have salt licks and blind located on all the
territory that needs them.
This
location is about 20 minutes away from the outpost cabin it consist of 3
area with salt licks and lots of game trails two location are easily
accessible by boat and the other has a short quad ride and boat ride to the
head of the RABBIT HEAD LAKE (UAPUSH USHTIKUAN) A blind is set up on the
island in clear view of the main land where the salt lick is located. This
territory also hold two little spots accessible by boat no quad
needed just a light hike of 10 minutes. There are 2 dominant bulls in the 45
to 55 inch spread and lots of regular sized bulls in the 35 to 45 inch range
with lots of females and calves to get the population up (This area is
available for hunters that are looking for females (cow) hunts). Bulls were
spotted in 2008 and 2009. 
This
is our newest addition to NSHA hunting territory it consist of a open field
like semi swamp to hard surface, a small series of lakes in easy open old
growth forest and river system that has acces to a game trail system that
holds lots of promiss for 2007 and beyond. Discoverd by chance in a fishing
trip in 2005 and hunted for the first time in 2006 with one kill in 1 day of
hunting in the area. With 2 to 4 dominant bulls in this area and lots of
average bulls and cows make this a great addition for our 2010 hunts. About 40
minutes away from Outpost cabin (spike camp trips are possible)
The
Bois long valley is a small tributary of the Aux OUTARDES river that is
flooded do to a hydro electric dam located 160 miles south. This territory
is one of Jocelin favorite location for big bulls and holds lots of promise
in a trophy moose being bagged in 2007. This territory is about 90 minutes
away from the outpost cabin which makes this a great spike camp location to
hunt both this territory and the other bois long territory (BOIS LONG HEAD
WATER).
This
other Bois Long location is about 25 minutes boat ride away from territory 4
(Bois long VALLEY) its located at the limit of the flood plain making this a
real gem with all the wild grasses growing on the shoreline. Lots of game
trail and one salt lick and a tree stand making this a very remote location
with plenty of potential in bagging a MOOSE.
